If you’re going to travel right now, business class makes it feel a lot better. Heaps of space rather than inches separate you from fellow travelers, and in some cases, like Qatar Airways Qsuite, you even have a privacy door to create your own cocoon.
Now that South Africa has officially announced plans to reopen from October 1st without quarantine for all travelers with a recent covid-19 test, booking a trip isn’t even just speculation. It’s a chance at meaningful winter sun, during the worst months of cold and rain in the Northern Hemisphere.
Qatar Airways Flight Deals
Our friends Premium Flights shared an incredible offer to South Africa with Qatar Airways, with the lowest prices from Oslo to Johannesburg, but options from other cities, and to Cape Town as well.
Oslo is easy to reach from most European gateways, and offers significant savings versus other cities for these flights. Stockholm is the next best bet, just about £100 more, if that’s easier, and Amsterdam is around the same price, and also offers Cape Town for around £1300.
For London ballers who don’t any hassle with positioning to and from another city, London to Cape Town is available for £2,200 round trip all through the peak season, with Qsuite guaranteed between Heathrow and Doha, and likely, but not guaranteed for Cape Town.

What’s service like on Qatar Airways right now? Well, pretty much like it was before the pandemic, minus the fact that crew are wearing protective gear. You’ll still enjoy full meals, champagne and all the goods you’d expect. It’s even served with real glassware!
The Dates You Can Travel
These deals are widely available for departures as early as October 2020, and run through May of 2021 in most cases. To find the lowest prices, you’ll typically need to stay at least four nights in South Africa, and seven night trips or more are a sweet spot.
Qatar Airways has an excellent flexibility plan for travel in 2020, and is said to be considering extensions for travel into 2021, which means you could do quite well with these deals.
How To Book These Flights
These flights are easy to book, and for the sake of ease with refunds or any changes in plans, they’re best booked with Qatar Airways directly. This also shows the most info about what seats you can expect, though that’s always subject to change with Qatar Airways.
Qatar offers a 15 day calendar to help find the lowest fares, so simply search for flights from: ARN, OSL, AMS or LHR to CPT or JNB, and then once you see results, select “15 day calendar” to make sure you’ve got the lowest price.
