Every once in a while, your points raise their game…
Combine a discount and a bonus – and you get a great deal. That’s exactly the case with the latest opportunity to maximize points for a comfortable bed across the pond, where you can combine a great discount on seats using points, with a transfer bonus turning Citi Thank You Points into airline miles. Without too much effort at all, here’s how to fly from the U.S. to Europe, or vice versa, in business class for just 46,000 points…
Citi Thank You Bonus
Every blue moon, a credit card company offers a bonus when you transfer points to one of their airline or hotel partners. For a limited time, Citi has announced a 30% bonus when you transfer your Thank You points into the Air France/KLM Flying Blue airline miles program. Why might you be interested? Because you can fly Delta, Air France, KLM, Alitalia or Air Europa between the U.S. and Europe, starting at just 46,000 points. Yes, beds in the sky for 46,000 points. Just transfer your Citi Points by August 29th, 2018 to take advantage.
Flying Blue Miles
Flying Blue offers great rates for flights on Air France, KLM and Delta, starting at just 59,000 points one way. Add in the 30% transfer bonus from your Citi Thank You Points to Flying Blue, and you’ll need just 46,000 points. Amusingly, you pay fewer points to fly Delta if you book through FlyingBlue, than if you book using Delta Skymiles. Flying Blue has great availability to and from Europe, and if you select Delta flights, surcharges run between $15-$25 one way, and under $200 round trip. If you score Air France or KLM flights, you’ll pay more like $200 each way, but perhaps enjoy a more refined experience.
Transfer And Book
If you don’t already have one, you’ll need to create an Air France / KLM Flying Blue frequent flyer account. It’s free, and easy. Once you have one, you can search online for flights you’d like to take using points. You’ll see rates between 59,000 and 75,000 points one way, which are worth booking. These rates have not factored in the 30% bonus you’ll receive when transferring your Citi Thank You Points. If you find something worth booking, try to place the seats on hold, and then transfer your Citi Thank You Points over to FlyingBlue. Once the points are in your account, you can book online with ease, using this link. Enjoy! This is phenomenal value!
