Getting to California has numerous benefits. One obvious one: you’re in California. From North to South, California is one of the world’s best destinations with wine country, phenomenal eats, hot beaches and just about everything else too. It also puts you in the perfect starting point for a West Coast road trip, or additional jaunt to Hawaii. Right now you can get from Europe to San Francisco in business class for £1125 round trip, which really isn’t bad…
UPDATE 3/14: These deals have now expired. Here’s how to never miss a flight deal again…
The Business Class Deals
Oneworld airlines British Airways and American are offering great deals to California in business class, out of Frankfurt, Dusseldorf, Berlin and London, with the lowest prices from German cities. Total price runs $1500 all in, which is about £1125 or €1300. Using just 4,500 points or a cheap flight, it could well be worth venturing to one of these cities, since the savings can be huge. It’s possible to route these deals advantageously to collect additional British Airways tier points as well.
The Dates You Can Travel
These deals are available exclusively around December 2019 Holidays starting December 23rd and then through all of January 2020. Not a bad way to start the New Year, for sure. For most dates, a Friday night stay is the only requirement. Don’t forget: you can upgrade to first for around 20k Avios each way, which is a steal…
How To Book These San Francisco Deals
Booking is easy. You can book via Google Flights, British Airways or American. Simply enter DUS, FRA or TXL to SFO for the lowest prices. London Heathrow is only around £200-£300 more, if that’s more convenient. Here’s a link to the lowest prices on Google Flights. Enjoy the trip.
Great deal on AA Metal
Argh! I live in San Francisco. I wish it started from here. Great deal, but if it’s roundtrip from London, I can’t see how it works.
Best way to use these in this instance is if you’ll be making multiple London trips. If you are, you use points or a cheap deal to get to London, use this deal to get back to San Francisco and then use the return segment to get back to London for the later trip.
Looks like fare is dead :-(. No longer pricing on Matrix, or listed in ExpertFlyer.
