There’s nothing like logging into a frequent traveler account to find that your loyalty perks have been extended for yet another year. Logging into my Accor Live Limitless (ALL) account this morning, I was thrilled to see Platinum for yet another year, in response to the global pandemic. Accor is not only extending status, but creating a nice advantage to entice people to complete stays in 2020 as well.

Accor Extends ALL Elite Status

Accor has extended elite status for all members globally through December 31st, 2021. This is a welcomed move from the loyalty program which puts Accor among the more generous extension policies in place. Basically, it’s one less thing for members to worry about during challenging times. Your status will still be there, and you can actually enjoy it in the latter half of this year as well, so it’s better than usual, in an unusual way.

Rollover Status For 2021

If you do happen to be in a part of the world where travel is starting to reboot, there’s some good news on the Accor Hotels side. The ALL program will rollover any points and nights earned from July 2020-December 2020 and count them towards re-qualification for the following year, aka status for 2022. Again, all members status is automatically extended until the end of 2021 already, so this gives you a bonus window to earn higher status.

With Europe expected to reopen on June 15th, that gives members an extra half year to work toward a higher status, and at the very least, a full year next year to aim to at least make previous goals as well. Asia is already looking at travel corridors to bring back travel, so for many, it may be sooner than expected.

Points Won’t Expire In The Interim

Accor is pausing all points expiration until December 15th, 2020. In short, if you have points which were due to expire, you’ve got until December 15th to earn more and prolong their life. In addition, any unused suite upgrades will also be extended for another year, meaning you don’t need to burn them on something now, just to extract any value.

  1. This is great to hear that Accor is doing right by their members, considering others (looking at you IHG) are taking the opportunity to sneak in unfriendly moves. Regarding Accor, though, I’ve long been intrigued by them and am impressed with their portfolio. If you’ve already written about this in a different post, then forgive my asking, but how do you find them to compare against the other major hotel chains, especially in terms of benefits/status recognition, etc. I’ve stayed at their properties a few times, and only as a general member, and even then my personal experience was that staff were warmer and more attentive than at Marriott properties where I hold Platinum status, or IHG where I’m a lowly Gold. Would love to read your thoughts…

  2. Nice to see this from Accor – shame it contrasts with a bonkers and hugely customer unfriendly Coronavirus refund/exchange policy on existing bookings (vouchers only, and have to be used at the same hotel).
