The problem with points, if there is one, is that you never feel as if you have enough. If that doesn’t apply to you, shut it!
But when opportunities come along to burn through just 32,000 points for a transatlantic business class flight, or a mere 64,000 round trip, you realize that the whole points game isn’t in fact a pipe dream, but a great dream, and one that’s easily turned into a reality. If you have credit card points, or Air France/KLM Flying Blue miles, there’s a great opportunity to cash in for total comfort at an amazing price.
Special Air France / KLM Promo Awards
Award flights are the ones where you cash in your miles, and each month Air France/KLM offer a monthly promo, cleverly titled “Promo Awards”, where you save on the usual number of miles needed between city pairs. These deals launch on the first of each month, but this week saw an extra special edition launched with additional savings. Starting in either direction, it’s possible to fly business class for…
- 32,000 Points Europe – Toronto (either direction)
- 36,000 Points Europe – Seattle (either direction)
- 36,000 Points Europe – Mexico City (either direction)
There are also other destination from Europe, included the Seychelles on offer too…
Surcharges and taxes for these flights are typically around $250 each way, or around $400’s round trip, which isn’t the best but is nowhere near the worst. 64,000 points and $400 for a round trip in business class is awesome, and so is half that in money and miles for a one way.
The Points You Can Use To Book These
The thing to get excited about here is not only flying business class for a reasonable amount of miles, but also the amount of different types of points and miles you can pool together to make this happen. To book this you need…
- To create a FlyingBlue account, if you don’t already have one.
- Points from: Amex, Citi, Chase, Capital One, Marriott or Flying Blue.
You can transfer points from Amex, Citi, Chase, Capital One, Marriott and more into FlyingBlue Miles, and most transfers take under 48 hours. Once you have the number of miles needed for your desired flight, you can login to your FlyingBlue account and do a flexible search to find your one way or round trip flights.
The Dates You Can Travel In Either Direction
This special edition of Air France / KLM Promo’s allows for travel from November 2019 through March 2020, and there are some dates around peak holiday times where you can save an absolute fortune.
Once you have a free FlyingBlue account, you can search for options here. It’s recommended to use the flexible date calendar to give you an easy look at when the lowest priced flights are offered around your potential dates.
You know, I used to feel that way in terms of never having enough points. But I changed jobs 2 years ago which severely restricts my vacation time and thus I only go on 2 big trips each year nowadays. In fact, I’ve had a really hard time finding a way to redeem my AAdvantage miles. Ok ok I’ll shut it. lol.
I love FB promo awards but one thing to note on this article is once you book it, it’s non-refundable and non-changeable (“cannot be modified, cancelled, or refunded.”) So make sure you can definitely go on those flights before booking. It’s a great deal indeed!
Great point to mention, and sorry I forgot to! Enjoy!
