£470 + 40,000 miles for round trip business class. Not bad, eh?
Want to fly business class for pennies on the dollar, or just have a nice comfy premium economy seat to stretch out in, on a long flight? We’ve got both, gift wrapped and ready for the taking. British Airways is back with unbelievably tempting premium economy deals, and upgraded to business class is one of the best values around.
The Deals
British Airways are back with incredible premium economy deals out of Oslo and Stockholm. If you can use points or a cheap flight to get to either city (assuming you’re not already there), you can save thousands on great flights. Round trip flights to Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York and Dubai are just £470. If you want to upgrade to flat bed business class on the long haul route, you’ll pay just 20,000 miles each way and virtually no additional cash. Yeah – round trip business class £470 and 40,000 points. That’s a ridiculous deal. And since you’re starting with a cash ticket, you’ll earn both miles and status points on these flights.
The Dates
These deals have wide open availability. The deals are available from now thru Mid June, and then again from mid August thru to December 11th. To upgrade to business easily, search as if you’re booking a flight purely with miles on the British Airways website BEFORE booking. Find flights which have availability to use miles in business class. If they have availability, you can immediately call in and upgrade after booking for 20,000 Avios miles each way.
Booking
These deals can be booked directly with British Airways. If you’d like to upgrade, you must book direct with British Airways. Here are examples to Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York and Dubai. Here’s a longer recap of how to upgrade as well. Here are five amazing places to eat in LA. Ten tips for visiting NYC. And finally, five great hotels to use points in San Francisco. As far as value goes, this is top notch.
Any to Canadian cities at similar prices ?
Just tried to book this. Got the price of £470 for the tickets but have just called to upgrade to be told it’s 60000 avios each plus £92 ish to upgrade the lhr-sfo-lhr sectors or same money and 73000 to upgrade all four sectors. Why is it so much more than the article says?
Adrian. It depends on Peak/Off Peak. Depending on when you’re flying it can be 20K per sector for the long haul. There’s no point in upgrading the short haul. Ask for a manual calculation of the upgrade costs, or at least – an explanation. The difference should be negligible.
Oh that seriously sucks.
I wouldn’t have thought to check that either 🙁
