Much like it’s spirit animal across the Atlantic, London is a quintessential place to spend the winter holidays. Whether you’re a local or just a lucky visitor, it’s impossible not to get wrapped up in the charming displays, lights and of course shopping. But if you’re like most city wanderers, all that hard work shopping and exploring deserves a little nibble, or perhaps a tipple. Fortunately, Amex is in town to help- and they’re buying!

If you’re an American Express Platinum or Centurion cardholder (worldwide), you and up to two guests can relish in the delights of the Amex Pop Up Lounge, soon to open at one of London’s niftiest locations- The Hospital Club in Covent Garden. From November 24-26 and December 1-3, Amex is opening one of their celebrated Centurion “pop up” lounges to relieve cardmembers of their city shopping and exploring woes. Or really, just give them a place to have a nice cocktail, a little nibble, enjoy some wifi and then get back to it! The lounge will be open from 11AM-8PM daily, and once inside, everything is free. Everything!

The lounge will feature completely complimentary food and drinks from Amex’s curated team of mixologists, master sommeliers and celebrity chefs, including: Jim Meehan, Cédric Vongerichten and Michele Bernstein. That’s right, Amex is buying you cocktail and canapés all day- to assist in your holiday shopping and sight seeing. In addition to celebrity chef and bartender curated food and tipples, the lounge will offer snow globe making, private q&a sessions from industry leaders on top gifts of the season, what to wear and other relevant topics.

We’ve always been of the opinion that the American Express Platinum is worth the annual fee if you travel regularly, thanks to it’s revered perks. But now it appears the card is really showing it’s worth- even without leaving home at all. We love these Amex pop up lounges and hope to see more around the world soon.
