If you find your points to be frustrating or only somewhat useful, you’re going to want to close your eyes and click away. A group of lucky people just got to experience a whole new way to use miles, and it’s virtually impossible not to be enviably jealous. Does a nearly private jet trip to London complete with Wimbledon, Abbey Road, top chef dinners and indulgence sound good to you? British Airways, Chase and Visa thought so too…

Unlike any British Airways redemption in history, there were no taxes or surcharges added to the first ever “Above and Beyond” event. The trip, billed as an extraordinary experience that money couldn’t buy, certainly lived up to the billing. Featuring a round trip business class ride on British Airways “Private Jet” from JFK to London City, before being whisked to the world famous Savoy hotel for an included complimentary three night stay, where of course guests were treated to private check in, a welcome lunch and room upgrades; the trip sounds like it couldn’t get any better, but it doesn’t end there.

London activities included in the package ranged from a private rooftop evening overlooking Trafalgar Square complete with dinner on Thursday, before Friday’s jaw dropper, a night in Abbey Road Studios, the home of The Beatles, with champagne reception and James Beard award winning chef dinner… not to mention an exclusive Jamie Cullum performance. Nope, incredibly still not done. On Saturday, guests were treated to a private garden party at Wimbledon with tennis legend Stan Smith before heading to centre court, where their premier seats awaited. Sunday, today, guests will head home on the British Airways “Private Jet”. Talk about jet set lifestyle…

The trip required 350,000 Avios (miles) per person or 350,000 and a companion voucher earned from a British Airways credit card, comping the second person and included all flights, hotels, events, meals and insider access. Since earning 100,000 British Airways miles is easy using these tips, you may be asking yourself “why not me”? You might not even have to for long either! The event was the first of its kind and signals a desire from British Airways and its credit card partners to create unique value (and unbelievable access) for those who spend on their British Airways cards. Best of all? The organizers gave us tickets to the Abbey Road evening to give away to our readers. Needless to say they enjoyed themselves thoroughly….
