Book for two, save a few (thousand)…
British Airways is celebrating the 20th anniversary of direct flights between London and Denver with a rare business class sale starting from the USA. If you can find a travel buddy, you can jet off as low as $1798 per person, thanks to easily available discounts. If a trip to London this fall or winter is in the cards, business class is definitely not a bad way to do it. Oh, and you can upgrade British Airways business class fares to first class, for just 22,500 points per person each way…
The British Airways Deal
British Airways is offering round trip business flights for two, for $3979 all in, or about $1990 per person – but you can do better. If you have a Chase Visa credit card (ideally the British Airways Visa Signature) you can use promo code “CHASEBA2018” to knock 10% off the total, or if you’re an AARP member, you can knock $200 off per ticket. You can alternatively use British Airways Avios Points to knock the price down much further at checkout. These methods would bring the grand total down to $3581, for two round trip business class flights. Solid, indeed. While these fares are still high compared those originating on the other side of the pond, they’re amongst the lowest transatlantic business class fares we’ve seen for travel starting on the U.S. side, especially for borderline West Coast.
The Dates
These deals must be booked by September 12th for travel between November 1st, 2018 and February 28th, 2018. There will likely be blackout dates around peak December holiday times, and a Saturday night stay is also required. We had no problem finding the deals in our first search.
How To Book
Simply visit British Airways website here, enter your dates and search. You’re looking for fares that will come to around $850 one way, and $1140 the other way. Once you’ve found the deals you’ll be taken to the payment screen, where you can enter CHASEBA2018 in the promo field if you’re paying with a British Airways Visa Signature Card, or login to your account to use Avios Points to take the price down using points. If you want to use the AARP route, you’ll start at AARP and click over using their dedicated links. The AARP discount works out virtually identical to the British Airways Visa Signature discount. If you want to use points – 21,000 Avios Points would take $208 off the total, for example.
