Works one way for half the price too!

The trip to the South Pacific is a long one for most travelers, and when you get there it would be a crying shame to only catch a glimpse of one buzzing city or country. Sydney is the perfect first stop, but visiting Australia without also catching some New Zealand love would be a mistake, and thanks to a ridiculously good fare deal, it’s easy to hop the Tasman in flat bed comfort at economy prices. And before you ask, it works in both directions and one ways work too!..

The Flight Deal

LATAM flies a beautiful Boeing 787 Dreamliner for the short connecting flight between Sydney and Auckland before the plane carries onto Chile. This allows passengers to book tickets for the 4ish hour ride across the Tasman sea in flat beds, with full business class service and comfort. You can start from either Sydney or Auckland and one way tickets work for half the price. That’s simply amazing. $235 for a one way from Auckland to Sydney is an incredible bargain in a bed. Plus, you earn extra points too…

The Travel Dates

These ridiculously good deals are available at the lowest price of $498USD in March, and March only. If you can swing $675, there are also dates from May-November. For any frequent flyers looking for some quick points, you can do a next day turnaround. But with things like Waiheke Island nearby, you’d be a bit nuts…

How To Book

These deals are super easy to find and book. Here’s a Skyscanner link for Sydney to Auckland and for Auckland to Sydney. If you only need one way, just change the search to one way to unlock fares at about half the price. You really can’t beat a bed in the skies for under $250 one way. Enjoy your trip too. Here’s how to spend 48 perfect hours in Sydney.

  1. Here I was, minding my own business, enjoying my first coffee while jumping between today’s horror stories out of Washington and fun stuff like BA. Next thing I know I see your post and start thinking “hmm, been meaning to get back to Sydney and I’ll be in Auckland anyway next month and this is a great fare and I’ve oodles of points and I bet my husband would be game”. Now it’s lunchtime and we’re booked using 30k UR points for flights, 2 nights @ PH Sydney @ 30k/night. Love this hobby. Thanks.
