Update: congrats to comment #51 which won, pending verification they can use the certificates. They won via random.org drawn at exactly 9PM EST.
Up and up we go. We’re about to embark on a endlessly long journey, weaving almost every continent.
In the meantime, I have upgrade certificates I just won’t be able to use. I’ve loved joining BoardingArea, and I’d like to give away my hard earned certificates to a reader who can make great use of them. Best of all? We’re drawing the winner tonight. No waiting around!
What They Are
Alaska MVP Gold 75K receive four “guest” upgrade certificates, which enable you to upgrade almost any cash booking instantly into first class (for anyone).
You just need to find flights that have “guest” upgrade availability and book. If you’re already booked on Alaska, you need to see if your flight has this guest availability- and if there’s any difference in the fare needed to upgrade. There’s usually not.
A Polite Request
A nice giveaway deserves a nice winner. We want these certificates to go to someone who either a) already has a booking, which they can confirm has upgradeable availability without additional cost, or one they’re willing to undertake b) is imminently making a booking, and will be able to cash in these certificates to instantly bump themselves up to first class. Basically: we don’t want these going to waste or just collecting dust for someone. Please only enter if you really have something that could benefit. These even work on longer transcontinental flights.
How To Enter
Please leave a comment with what flights you’ll use them for. There’s no wrong answer. Please also include a link to your favorite recent post from this site or another BoardingArea site. It can be a deal, inspiration, points, whatever. Again, no wrong answers- just an exercise to make you eligible. We’ll use random.org to generate a winner at 9PM EST tonight. After that no entries will be valid. Be sure to use an email address where we can contact you as your email address for the comment. It’s not public, but we can see it and email you your unique certificate codes. Best of luck.
Thanks for offering this. I would use it for a trip to Hawaii.
