November 25th update: these deals have now expired. Told ya’ they don’t last long…
Rio De Janeiro is a city that has “the magic”. By the most conservative of adjectives, it’s a layout that can only be defined as breathtaking. With two of the world’s famous beaches side by side, one of the most iconic statues found anywhere and enough delicious food to topple an overweight food critic, it’s hard not to find it anything but dreamy.
The Business Class Deals
Know this: it’s not at all uncommon for flights to South America to topple $1000 round trip. In fact, it’s the low average – in economy. With that in mind, it goes without saying that a flat bed in the air and lounge access at both ends is a big step up on the 9-10 hour flight, and for $1390, it’s absolutely worth the splurge.
American and United are battling it out with fantastic fares from NYC to Rio De Janeiro, coming in at $1390 round trip for travel in early 2020. Want in? We got the deets…
When You Can Travel
These deals are available in January and February 2020 with fantastic availability. Each airline is offering slightly different dates, so if you’re hoping to fly United, Monday or Tuesday are the best departure days. If you’re hoping for American Airlines, the best availability is also on Monday and Tuesdays, but there are plenty of dates in late January for Wednesday, Thursday, or even weekend departures.
To lock in the lowest prices, you’ll just need to stay one Saturday night in Rio. So basically, you could leave on a Thursday and come back Sunday, or go much longer, but you’ll need to be there for at least one Saturday. Considering Rio’s party scene, that shouldn’t feel too sad.
How To Book These Offers
At the time of writing, most economy fares range from $900-$1800 for the same dates. These sort of “fare war” type offers tend not to last long, and are really just airlines proving a point to each other. If you want in, it’s best to book now, and if you need to cancel, you’ve got 24 hours to do so for a full refund, by law.
