British Airways has announced their latest promo, and this time they got it really right. Previous double Avios promotions always tended to come just after a major sale, just like this one, when most passengers had already booked – ugh! But for a change, the airline is allowing all new bookings, and even those already booked in the recent sale to be eligible for double points. The new promotion is available to members worldwide and for flights in all cabins. If you’re flying BA anytime between now and next June, it’s a no brainer…
The Double 2X Avios British Airways Promotion
All British Airways flights worldwide are eligible, and every cabin counts too. You’ll earn 2X standard Avios earning rates, in addition to any bonuses you might earn if you have elite status. The only thing that matters is the when, where – and registering. The offer is valid for flights booked by December 13th 2019 for travel completed before June 30th, 2020.
This offer even includes transatlantic flights between the Europe and USA on Iberia, American or Finnair, giving you four options and endless routes.
As you may have guessed already, you must register before booking, to take advantage. Fortunately, if you’ve already booked, BA has a form you can fill in to still earn double Avios even though you have a booking. It’ll manually get you your 2X. Just to reconfirm: you must register first, but if you recently made bookings in the BA sale, they too will count – you just need to fill in the form ASAP.
Here’s the form and registration link. Just note: you’re limited to 10 flights, so 5 round trips.
Easy Win For Double Avios On British Airways
It’s nice to see British Airways take a friendlier approach to this new promotion, not excluding those who are savvy enough to book during their best sales. This applies for any passengers who booked from August 31st through September 18th. If you have travel on any of these four Oneworld airlines, there’s literally no reason not to register, even if you don’t have anything presently booked.
There’s almost always a good sale in November, so if you want to play this one super savvy, look for amazing Black Friday offers and then enjoy double Avios on luxury flights which earn more anyway. It really doesn’t get much easier. “Double Avios” is based on base Avios, not including bonuses, so if a regular member would typically get 3,400 base miles for a flight, they’d get 6,800. Any elite members would then earn their bonuses too.
I booked Christmas flights months ago but about to pay for a cash upgrade to Club World. Will the upgrade count for the double points?
questionable, but perhaps.
Notwithstanding your boast that this appeared first here it was posted several days ago on dad for Points a high quality travel newsletter from the UK.
Where is the boast? Never heard of it, and this was posted days ago too.
