Premium seats at economy prices, nice…
Business class can be crazy expensive, and economy can be a bit tight – and that’s precisely why premium economy is the new travel sweet spot. You can enjoy your extra large seat with extra recline, or if you really want to, you can upgrade to business class using points, and get even more than you paid for! California is worth the trip every time, and these deals offer the choice of Los Angeles fun in the sun, or San Francisco sophistication. We’ve seen far higher prices for economy, so this is quite the deal…
The Deals
British Airways is back with hot premium economy deals from many of their competitors most popular cities. Starting from Zurich, Dublin, Inverness or Oslo you can jet off to California in premium economy starting at £590 round trip. If you’ve got points, you can upgrade the long haul flight from London to Los Angeles or San Francisco using about 30,000 points each way, if availability exists. Even if you don’t live in one of these cities, it can be worth using points or finding a cheap flight to start the deal, since the savings may still be far greater than prices elsewhere.
The Dates
These deals are available from October 2018 thru May 2019. Dates around peak December holidays may be unavailable, but you’ll find these prices wide open from November thru March with plenty of dates on either end. Los Angeles weather is just about perfect all year round, and San Francisco is great, even if it’s not warm.
How To Book
These deals are easy to book directly with British Airways. Here are the best round trip premium economy deals, like: £595 Zurich to San Francisco, £618 Inverness to Los Angeles, £625 Dublin to Los Angeles and £640 Oslo to Los Angeles. You can find flight options that include the Airbus A380, Boeing 787 or 747. Simply use the example links above and click around to find dates that work for you and book! Wondering about upgrades?
How To Upgrade
You can upgrade the long haul part of these deals to Club World business class for 30,000 points each way, and you don’t have to upgrade both ways. Simply follow this easy guide to upgrade availability and call in to lock in your upgrade. There should hardly be any difference in cash, so if you’re told otherwise – read this.
As I live in London can I skip the Zurich to London flight and just use the LHR to SFO to get to San Fran using this premium economy deal? Or do I have to start the whole journey from Zurich to get to SFO?
Virgin, Lufthansa, Norwegian and Air France are just some of the alternatives for PE from Europe and they all clean their cabins, offer working AV or WiFi and behave with less distain for their customers; loading enough food, responses from customer services in under 5weeks, more reasonable charges for “extras”. AND the net price is commonly lower than the BestAvoided “sale”
Thank you for your honest words.
So where did that comment come from “John” subject is BA.
I tried to find these fares just now and could not? Any idea’s ?
The comment came from 17years of flying BA longhaul including during the descent of the last 4 years and the alternatives offer pricing on their websites eg. https://www.norwegian.com/uk/flights/from-london/to-los-angeles/ currently quoting £514 for premium, inc. onboard Wifi and a pitch that is significantly better than WTP+
@John, that’s one way. The fare you quoted is several hundred more than the BA fares.
