With competition at a fever pitch, we figured it’s high time to compare the very best offerings, their price points and where they stack. Here are the best airline seats flying across the United States in 2017…

#5 United Business Class

Price Point: ~$1200 round trip.

Highlights: 2×2 flat bed seating, great in flight entertainment, airport fast track and lounge.

Cons: Tired planes. Mediocre food and beverage, high price point.

Routes: Between New York and Los Angeles, San Francisco. Boston to San Francisco.

Price Point: ~$1300 round trip.

Highlights: 2×2 flat bed seating, great in flight entertainment, airport fast track and Admirals Club.

Cons: Only half the seats have direct aisle access, food and beverage mediocre, high price point.

Routes: Between New York and Los Angeles, San Francisco. Occasionally, short haul.

Price Point: ~$1200 round trip.

Highlights: direct aisle access flat beds, SkyPriority airport service and lounge, excellent wine and foods.

Cons: Dated in flight entertainment systems on most flights.

Routes: Between New York and Los Angeles, San Francisco, Washington and Los Angeles.

#2 JetBlue Mint

Price Point: ~$1000 round trip.

Highlights: throne flat bed seats, best domestic wifi, privacy, delightful meals and service, top quality entertainment.

Cons: Not all seats offer direct aisle access, choose the throne whenever possible.

Routes: Between New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco, but also- too many routes to list!

#1 American Flagship First

Price Point: ~$2000 round trip.

Highlights: 1×1 flat bed seating, flagship check in, security escort, flagship first lounges, refined service.

Cons: For a 5 hour flight, we can’t think of any.

Routes: Between New York and Los Angeles, San Francisco.
