Are you sure we’re at an airport?
Even if you don’t really need to, it’s always worth looking for flight connections through Singapore. Putting aside the fun things to do in the city itself, Changi airport is a place you need to experience at least once in life, if only to make you hate your local airport even more. In a word, it’s incredible. But like all world greats, it’s not done. This spring, Changi is adding bamboo mazes and waterfalls to its endless accomplishments.
There’s already a public movie theatre, multiple hotels with outdoor pools and an open air butterfly garden to enjoy, but why stop there? Changi Airport has been voted best airport six years in a row by Skytrax; but with pressure building, the airport decided to create the ultimate attraction on top of its already best in class attractions.
So when can we go? The Jewel at Singapore Changi Airport officially opens to the public on April 17th, although some of the main attractions won’t be ready until mid 2019. If you’re passing through Southeast Asia it’s time to look for a really, really long connection…
