Greece has never needed much of a sell, and as a destination with stunning outdoor spaces and plenty of social distancing on beaches, seas and outdoor patios, it’s one of the best choices for 2020 travel. News today from Aegean Airlines makes the deal even sweeter, with a promotion that’s not too good to be true, where kids under 12 fly free all summer, when an adult books a ticket. Dreamy? Indeed! Here’s the scoop…
Aegean “Kids Fly Free” Promo
Aegean is the beloved airline of Greece, with international connections throughout Europe and beyond. This summer, when an adult buys a ticket, a child under 12 flies free. Even better, thanks to the airlines flexible covid-19 booking policies, there’s all sorts of extras too, like double miles and a free checked bag. The deal covers all international and domestic flying.
How To Book
It’s quite simple: book an adult ticket with Aegean, you’ll get one for your child under 12, or infant for all travel booked until June 30th, for travel up to September 6th, 2020. If you’ve got multiple children, each adult triggers a free ticket for an additional child or infant.
You simply need to enter “FAMILYDEAL” when you search in the promo code, and book one of Aegean’s “Flex” tickets, which aren’t nearly as expensive as they sound. On many GSTP searches, the difference between a “Flex” ticket and a “Go Light” ticket was under $25.
Even better, all bookings during this time period enjoy 50% off “up front” seats, or pet transfers. These deals are only valid if you book through Aegean using the app or website and enjoy free change fees for the child/infant ticket during the promo period. You can read the full promo here.
Great Deal, Or Great Deal?
There are still bargains to be had for Greece this summer, with many travelers too hesitant to go ahead and book anything, yet. Finding fares under £200/€200 round trip to Greece on countless routes, with the benefit of a free ticket for children under 12 is a huge win, and these fares can be refunded to the original form of payment for a €60 fee.
Use Google Flights to find the cheapest deals by filtering Aegean only, and then enjoying two months of calendar to look at, to find the lowest prices. From there, just go to Aegean and lock it in…
Of course, the safest play for booking summer travel right now involves cashing in lots of frequent flyer miles which have no real outlay of cash, but finding dates where that’s possible isn’t always easy, and not everyone is going to have enough points to do so. This is a fabulous way to see Greece, perhaps in one of the few years its not chock full of tourists…
It seems like Greece will not be open for people originating in the US
